Autumn is game season at Browns of Harborne, bringing deeper flavours and a different kind of cooking back to the kitchen. Our seasonal game selection sits naturally alongside beef and lamb cuts made for slow roasting, braising and comforting casseroles. Whether you are trying game for the first time or returning to a seasonal favourite, our team can help you choose the right product, quantity and cooking method.
GAME SEASON
Game offers rich, distinctive flavour and plenty of variety for autumn cooking. From an elegant roast to a hearty pie or casserole, it can make an everyday meal feel that little bit more special.
Our seasonal selection includes pheasant, farmed rabbit and guinea fowl, alongside venison steak, diced venison and mixed game. Pheasant, rabbit and guinea fowl can be roasted or braised, while venison steak is suited to quicker cooking.
For pies, stews and casseroles, diced venison and mixed game are made for slower cooking. Our mixed game combines venison, duck, pheasant, partridge and rabbit, bringing several classic game flavours together in one dish.
For an easy introduction, venison sausages and venison burgers are made here at Browns and bring the flavour of venison into familiar meals.

SLOW COOKING

For beef, rolled brisket, beef shin, oxtail and braising steak are all well suited to slower cooking.
For lamb, choose shoulder of lamb, individual lamb shanks or braising lamb for slow roasts, curries, tagines and hearty stews.
